Some of you may recall that in the beginning of March My drivers side was damaged by a Ford pulling a trailer http://www.ramforum.com/f41/dang_fords-82136/.

My carrier subrogated against the Ford Driver's carrier, which should have been a slam dunk since the police report directly put them at fault and the driver got ticketed for careless driving. The other carrier finally settled so a check is on the way to me to reimburse my $500 deductible!

America, what a Country !! :happy107:

Not to be a jerk, but I do not think that is subrogation. Thats normal. :)

Subrogation is if your insurance paid you for your truck, and then went after their insurance for reimbursement. You having them go after the other guys' (at fault) insurance, and their insurance cutting you or a body shop a check, is just your insurance doing what you are paying them to do: to fight the enemy's big dogs with their big dogs.

Regardless of the terms, I'm glad you got taken care of. It took me over two months after my 2013 was totalled to finally get a check and land my 2014.

My insurance carrier paid for the work, minus my deductible, because I wanted to speed up the repair approval timetable. Then of course they subrogated against the other drivers carrier so they could get repaid and I could get my deductible repaid.

Trust me, I have dealt in insurance claims for my clients at work many, many times over the last almost 30 years. I fully understand subrogation.

I'm happy to see that you've gotten your money and your truck back. Now it's time for us to put it to the test and meet up lol. No really it's time for us to meet up. :)

Not sure about the US but here in Ontario there is no deductible if your vehicle is written off. Happened to once, insurance gave the deductible back to me when I complained.
