So this probably seems dumb but I'm not too familiar with the hemi powered 3/4 tons. My guess is us just a heavy ass truck. My 06 megacab seems to take off sluggish like you're pulling a trailer. It's got 3.73 10.5 axle. Any hemi 1/2 ton with about 1/4 to 1/3 throttle they'll haul ass but my mega is just starting to take off. Anything less than 1/3 throttle is super weak. Once you get rolling it's not so bad unless you're trying to go 40 to 70 to get out on the highway. I live just off they highway and the onramp is a tight clover into traffic. My miata can do it at 60 but my mega it's about 40mph then accelerate into 70mph traffic. I'm wondering if I could invest in 4.10s or maybe a Diablo to help a little. I've driven other 1 ton gas trucks that run like this but they have utility bed and cranes or heavy equipment on the back

I'd try the Pedal Commander and see how you like that. Folks that have them say the throttle response is much improved.

My 07 Mega was pretty slow off the line with 3.73's as well. Back in the day the Pedal Commander wasn't available. The truck got an AFE cold air intake, a better flowing exhaust with a Magnaflow single in/dual out unit and I added a Diablosport programmer. It made a big difference in how that truck ran and accelerated from a dead stop and out on the highway. Highway mileage actually improved somewhat as well.

Yup, those MegaCans are heavy, heavy trucks.

I was thinking Diablo before the AFE intake. Cost vs gains they're about the same cost but I do have a flowmaster single in dual out. A new set of plugs made a huge difference. I'd love to see at least 17 hwy consistent since there's alot of 70mph zones near here I drive on regularly but best I can see is 15.5. Once I break 63mph it drops from about 18 to 15. Diablo calls for 91 octane in their tune so then I'm factoring cost of an extra 30c a gallon to upgrade to 93 would the gains offset the cost at that point unless the power gains are worth it

I think everyone will concur, Pedal Commander. Tune will definitely help, but the Pedal Commander will allow you to easily and quickly dial in the pedal response you want.
