I washed my truck for the first time in a while yesterday and there are a few spots where there is paint chipping and very minor rust from dents and dings, especially where a deer hit the rear quarter panel. So my question is, what can I to do best prevent major rust from occurring.

It is a truck, dents and scratches are fine but I want to prevent rust and make it look at least decent. Is there a colored matched rust inhibitor I can use?

Again, it dont have to be perfect but this is my forever truck. I will have it till the frame rusts away. I live in the southeast so road salt aint an issue

Touch up the chips with a touch up pen. Fluid film inside all the panels and frame. Wash and wax religiously. You may live in the southeast, but salty air is around if on the coast. I’ve seen cars rust in the damnedest areas, usually around windows.
