im wanting to smoke my tail lights but instead of payin 100-150 bucks to get it done id rather do it myself. i was wondering how to go about doing it. i read somewhere to jus put tint film over the outside of the lens. if anyone has tried this before how did it go? is there a special kind of film im suppose to use? what are the steps?

There is a DIY on here somewhere for it. I did it and mine turned out great. I think it's called "how to tint your tails using rattle cans" or something like that. Its pretty simple.

whatever route you take, i suggest upgrading your bulbs before installing them.

160? Was that new 07/08 lights, used? and what type of paint was used?

Just wondering how I fare in comparison, my 07-08s with brand new tails (in gloss or PXR) run 180-185.

Yeah, I get that a lot. Lol.
Here's a pic of the lights on, not hitting the brakes.

Honestly, I would go with led. Just because they're brighter, and the actual light housing is bigger, I use the oem one in mine, no complaints here.

I'm switching to led though.
