i have 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 and its smoking from tail pipes. Seems to do it most at idle. It's not real bad and sometimes doesn't smoke at all and less after oil change. Truck has 140k always kept up using synthetic blend for oil change. One bad thing not sure if would effect but I have never changed the spark plugs. I bought new but these seemed just fine. Could this have anything to do with ? the smoke is white

White smoke=moisture bluish smoke= oil black= it's running fat. Me personally if it started when it got cold outside I wouldnt worry about it as moisture build up as exhaust cools in the colder months can cause it. If it bothers you watch coolant level and keep an eye on your oil. If your oil starts looking like a chocolate shake you gotta bad head gasket 90% of the time unless you have extreme cold and your coolant was junk it could crack the block but very unlikely.

Definitely change those plugs. That probably doesn’t help. Is it a grayish white like burning or just straight up white like steam? Good chance those plugs aren’t getting good burn and have excess fuel bypassing the cylinders burning off in the cats. Or internal oil leak from old seals

Thanks a lot for commenting. I don't believe I am leaking coolant . Oil was just changed and wasn't brown or nasty. It is more like that grey / white smoke. Not always but a lot of times at idol. It's definitely colder seems to be more visible. I'll change the plugs and go from there . Should I add additive for no smoke ? Just had oil change done .

I don’t ever suggest additives. Most of the time they end up adding other problems that weren't there before.
