Do you use mdf or birch?

I would like to do birch but I think funds are going to lead me to using mdf which I have done plenty of work with before.

Everyone that i talk to about making a custom box says that birch is easier to work with. I have not used it before but it would be nice to try it out. Maybe later on

Actually in this case it probably will be with some of the angles that I will be cutting into the box.

The idea I have in my head is going to give me full adustability to seats and hit 1 cube of volume for sure. From there I will be relying on my buddies for help with amp rack since they see possiblities a lot easier than I can.

If you remove the back wall you have another +/- 3 inches to play with.

I am really really considering cutting it anyways just to have a little better fit and finish when installing the box. So that really helps with that desision lol. Might also be a good way of keeping the surround of the sub from knocking into the seats without sacrifising any box volume.

Next step will more than likely be HAT Imagine 6.5s and one day at the LE3 to the dash for 3 way setup.

Thats what I keep reading just such a huge freq range that they cover and do it so well for so little money when it comes down to it.

I think its justifiable for the price with so many people saying they are the most natural sounding speakers at the price points they are at and that is all of their lines that people say this about. With that in mind I am still going to find a dealer and see if I can't find a good price on them.
