Ok RF I need some help here... searching didn't seem to turn up any answers for me. I'll admit my searching skills arent to great though!

So around Xmas I replaced my door speakers with some kenwood 6x9's, albeit they didnt fit very well. Last couple of days they have been rattling like mad so I removed them. The speakers work fine, they just keep hitting that stupid metal bracket. I've tried searching around for shallow speakers, but what exactly is it I need? I threw my old ones out so I cant measure... My kenwoods don't seem to want to fit in the rear doors either, is there something specific I need there? I need to replace them, all my stock ones are toast. Running stock HU, no plans for an upgrade but could happen down the road. Any suggestions for dash speakers as well? Might as well do them while I'm at it.

Thanks guys!

Crutchfield.com will tell you what speakers will fit your truck but there are speakers that will fit that they say will not like mine for example. I noted that the JL Audio C3-525 component sets would fit but they claimed the C3-600 would not. I did some extensive research on mounting diameter and mounting depth and decided they would fit. A buddy of mine had some C2-600s that I was able to use to check the fitment and they fit perfectly and so did the C3-600s when they arrived. I think the consensus here is the mounting depth for the front doors is 2 7/8 inches and around the same for the rears. You can look at my forum post in my sig too see the fitment of these speakers as well as search other users build posts.

Alpine SPR69c 6X9 speakers. Fit perfectly. New magnet material allows for smaller magnet yet still deliver superb sound and decibles.

Got four in my truck. Love them. Thinking the Polk Audio DB351, dash, may be too bright but jury still out on that.

If your running stock HU, u need 8-ohm speakers or an inline 4-ohm resistor and you will be fine. My dash speakers are 4-ohm but on an amp, I set the gain low to balance them. I decided to measure how many watts they were getting and it ended up being 6.5 watts lol

I run Kenwood DDX492 head end unit. Run Polk Audio DB351 dash speakers directly from the kenwood's 22watts RMS. Doors are run off an alpine mrv-f300 amp so it does balance out the dash. yet, even with powered doors speakers, the front dash can get seem s little bit too bright, at lower volumes.

then qagain, I have not really listened to car audio fro decades and just now getting used to it again.

Radio was either off or on NPR news.

WIll point out that chainging speakers and adding the amp was a huge change. not so much swaping out OEM base radio for the kenwood. That said, the sound quality, at all volumes, is huge diiference and worth the cost alone. Even super low volumes, 3,4,or 5, it fills the cab and cab be heard clearly.

I found these here, MTX Terminator693. 2 1/2" mounting depth, they should fit right? Couldn't find them on Crutchfield to check what they said, just want to double check.
