so this is a nice price on JEGS.com, 157$ with free shipping.. have any of you EcoDiesel owners bought this? the price savings alone makes me contemplate it being 1/2 price of AFE and others

Having worked with Spectre products on other vehicles in the past I will say that you get what you pay for.

Had one on my 07 4.7 and it looked good and made the noise it should on wot. I'm no CAI expert, but it served it's purpose. Personally wouldn't put it on my 4th gen Hemi, but that's only because I am dumping so much cash on it with all my other mods, no reason to go cheaper on the intake and I needed a covered CAI to make me feel better!

I'm not sure I'd want to put one of their intakes on any vehicle.

An acquaintance mine had one of their intakes on his Charger and the fake K&N knock off came apart. His engine ingested a bunch of filter material as a result.

Had one for about 6 months, took it off and sold it. The aluminum tube is a heat sink so you can forget about cold air. The fitting for the AIT sensor is a rubber grommet which gets brittle quick and the metal tube was constantly coming out of alingment with the air box. When that happened I lost a ton of horsepower and my gas milage went with it. I'd fair a guess that I would loose 30 hp and at least 3 mpg. Always seemed to happen when I was on the highway where it is not real convenient to pull over and fix it. As far as I am concerned the Specter is garbage.

only reason i want one is for the increased turbo spool sound from the ED. however ive noticed that the spectre kit is only a filter and housing, not removing all the stock sound dampeners etc. so thank you all for your input, but ill end up getting an aFe in a couple months and that'll take care of it.
