Just my luck... the other day driving home on the Highway and my ABS light and Electronic Stability control light. Not even 5 min later my "Service 4WD" light comes on, anyways got diagnostics ran on it and it turns out I have a bad left front wheel speed sensor and a leak in my CV boot. Has anyone had to replace any of these before? The mechanic told me I was going to have to buy a whole new hub since the speed sensor goes into it. Is this true? Can I just replace the cable itself?

The sensor goes into the hub with one small bolt. You won't need to replace the hub, just the sensor.

Agreed. the sensor uses a single bolt to hold it on.

you can see the sensor and how it plugs into the hub here. pardon the corrosion. Let me look at the old hubs I have and see if I can pull my sensor tonight. IIRC it is an allen wrench style bolt that can be accessed without pulling the hub. it is located on the exterior of the steering knuckle.

as for the CV boot, you will need to pull the entire CV axel to do this. this requires taking apart the top ball joint to get enough room to remove it. I have a chiltons manual that shows how to fix the boot. if you need me to take photos, shoot me a PM.
