Probably after the 2020 new body comes out. You could buy from the dealer and put it on yourself. About $1300 or more

I said about. The gate (5th gen) will fit the 4th gen box? For some reason I doubt that.
And its only $1300?!
I said about.

There is no split tailgate for HeavyDuty.
The HeavyDuty isn't going to be getting the new bed for a few years.
You can not even do the swap on a 1500 as the bed is different and so is the wiring. (Well atleast not without spending a substantial amount of money)
The beds change in length but the width is the same I thinkThere is no split tailgate for HeavyDuty.

On the 1500 pickups the split tailgate adds more than $3500 to the price for the truck as the $995 "multifunction" tailgate is only sold with the $845 bed utility group option and the bed utility group is sold only if you also get the $1695 Level 1 equipment group. Nice tailgate but Ram is really sticking it to its customers with their bundling requirements.
