This is completely random and a quick question but I’ve been looking around and haven’t seen anyone do this but I absolutely hate the way the starter sounds on a 5.7 hemi like the ram hemi I have a 2011 ram 1500 with the 5.7 and I would love to put in a 392 hemi starter lr the 6.2 starters because they sound amazing in my opinion just wondering if anyone knows its possible?

I owned a 1320 Challenger with the 6.4,and can't say as i ever noticed the starter sounding any differant then my trucks 5.7 starter did. You might have flywheel or starter drive issues,if your starter sounds differant

I'm not sure if i miss the sound of the old gear reduction starters,but they were a long lifed starter for the most part

I suppose the big cammed engine to fire from it was the best part.

IMHO, if U listen closely and hear a V8 starting, even now, I pretty much know if it was a Ford, RAM, or GM. They just have that different sound.

FRIEND of mine had a 68 Coronet, 440 Magnum, 3/4 cam, boy could U hear that monster turn over, and the idle was pronounced too. In a way miss those days, THINGS were just a lot simpler to do, work on, diagnose. Now U need a Kazillion Dollar "sun:" type machine just to hook into stuff. ALAS, the old days were great, but not always great, LMAO.

I miss them a lot , but know we were fortunate to have had the experience, and at least we have lots of great memories.

I replaced mine a month ago, used this one. It has alot deeper sound than the original to me.
