Howdy!
I own a 2022 1500 Laramie 4x4, off the lot with no aftermarket suspension upgrades. I want to pick up a steel bumper/brushguard that comes in at 174 pounds. I called the manufacturer of the product and was advised that because I have a 4x4, my Laramie has ‘upgraded’ suspension, so the truck can handle the weight of the bumper. My questions to the forum are:

Has anyone installed a like product, and did you need to also then upgrade the suspension?
Would you recommend adding that weight to the front, if I don’t want to then upgrade the suspension?
If you also have installed a steel bumper, has it impacted your steering, braking, response times?

All input welcome, this is how I learn.

Cheers,
Craig

I run "manufactured" bumpers on the front and back

The only difference i can tell is the truck is more pleasing to my eyes

Im sure the bumpers were listed as being heavy, by i installed them by myself, no problem

Keep in mind, if you remove the stock bumper and add a manufactured one, thats like putting a small kid in the front seat

Doesnt make much difference at all, weightwise
