Has anyone on their 4th gen replaced or repaired the steering rack?

I have a slight clunking noise in front. I had someone move the steering wheel back and forth fast, not to lock. I hear the noise and I can see some movement in the rack. Seems to me that the bushings that the bolts go thru that mount the rack to the cross member are going bad.

Has anyone replaced them? Where can I get them from besides the dealer? Have the OEM part numbers? I'm looking at some places and Im getting conflicting info. Some say I need only 2 at 1 part number and some say I need 4. 2 at one P/N and 2 at another P/N.

don't know 100% but my rack mounting bushing are loose. I think my inner tie rods are going.

But for you i'd go over and properly torque all the bolts that you touched when you installed the shocks. Unless something wasn't put back correctly.

Mine cluncked but only when turning to the left. Was told the steering gear was bad so my rack was replaced but clunk wasn't completely cured so new rack was immediately replaced............so far so good.

I know it's an old thread, but I have this clunk in my 2011 1500 4x2. It was there before and after my suspension lift, so pretty sure it is something in the steering system. Good to see I'm not crazy.
