When new with nice sharp shoulders, in 4x4 with LSD they're fine. Not exceptional, but passable. I'll be upgrading to something with stronger sidewalls which typically have a little more aggressive tread once the HPs wear out, but as much for towing stability as anything.

I am a Goodyear salesman and live in TN. Here's what i know about the HP and most other OE tires. They are always compromise tires. They are tires that fill a little of everyone's needs at a certain price point for the manufacturer. They will not handle off road or snow driving well. If you want a tire that looks great, rides good, and handles moderate off road or hazardous roads check out the silent armors. Be warned though they are pricey. Most sizes of silent armors have 50,000 mile warranty though.
