stop/start engine feature on which model?

The stop/start engine feature that turns off the engine when the vehicle is not in motion (at red lights etc...) is only available on the 8 speed version of the 2013 Ram 1500 right? - the same model with the air suspension and the active grill shutters. Just want to confirm that is the case? Thanks.

Never heard of the engine shutting off.
Are you talking about the MDS?

No, not the MDS. This feature turns the engine right off completely. It's mentioned on various web pages reviewing the 2013 model -some articles refer to it on a "HFE model" (high fuel efficiency) others say "on selected 1500 models" and others don't specify, making it sound like standard 2013 equipment (which we all know it isn't). From what I've read, the stop/start technology is borrowed from the Fiat line-up and adds about 1mpg.

Pretty sure it's on the 8 speed hemi, but wondering how much all these advertised fuel economy features add to the cost of the vehicle compared to the regular 6 speed hemi most of us have.

That's cool and would save more than 1 mpg in Dallas traffic.

Engine automatically restarts instantly when the driver releases the brake pedal
The system is always ready, thanks to robust charging and starting systems that include:

800-amp battery
Stout 220-amp alternator

Is that why when I come to a stop a couple seconds later the instant mileage goes from 99 to 0 (lower is better in litres per kilometre)? I can honestly say that I've never heard the truck "start" in a traditional sense afterwards....fully loaded sport minus air bags here with the 8 speed
