Hey there, first time post. I've noticed lately that my 19 Rebel has developed a slight bounce sitting at a red light. Does anyone else's do that? Its like someone is standing on the back bumper jumping up and down. Engine is solid, tach doesn't move and its so slight, you may not notice it right away. Really odd, before I mention it to the dealership, thought I'd ask if anyone else has noticed that.

Bouncing means shocks/struts are bad. Look for leaks around the seals. jump on the rear bumper, if it bounces excessively and dosent immediately return to home position, shocks are bad

I have felt what you are talking about . I have the air ride suspension but do not think it has anything to do with shocks or air ride. It almost feels likes someone bumps you while sitting still. I think it has to do with the tranny shifting to a different gear.

that feeling of being bumped is associated with lack of lube on the drive shaft bearings causing it to bind when coming to a stop. That "bump" happens when the bind is released

Bouncing is shocks/struts

Are you feeling this bouncing while sitting still, or is the truck still moving?

While sitting still. It's no the shocks, that I do know. Its almost feels like a car with a big cam in it. The harder I push on the brakes the smoother it gets. Guess I'll mention it to the dealership when I take it in for the A/C software update and floor mat recall. Can't be drive shaft if its not moving when I'm at a complete stop.

That's why I asked. I've had diesel trucks do that, but not gas powered trucks if the engine was in good tune. If it's not under warranty, the first thing I'd probably do is a compression test. How many miles are on your truck?

BTW...In case you're not aware, the temporary fix for the floor mat is to cut off some of the ribs near the gas pedal. Which will leave open holes in the floor mat. Leaving it looking something like this...

well, thanks to COVID I've only got about 5500 on the 5.7. Still under warranty.
