I'm certainly new here, and would like to start off by saying greetings to all. I got my RAM back at the end of 2021 with 6 miles on it and as a new driver I didn't know diddly squat about cars. So please bear with me. Many issues have arose in-between time, which id like to see if anyone knowledgeable can help. As of today, I took off to head to work, and on route I noticed my check engine light was on. Not sure if it was on when I initiated the fob start, actual push start, or while on route. But when I did notice first thing came to mind was pull over, turn off and back on the truck. And of course the check engine was still there. I started Google for possible troubleshooting causes, and possible answer, and I got a small but hopefully correct list. I went to autozone to check battery, and since no battery icon was present I was told they could not check it, so they pulled another device I believe diagnostic, and ran that test. I was then told everything looked to be in the clear but the battery was no good, except on paperwork, the service interval had failed, and the a concern that the battery was no good , was unclear. So I went to a battery place down the street where they tested my battery, and it flied with passing colors. Note while this is taking place, in-between the drives I haven't noticed much except for that when my stop/start mechanism was active i would find my truck stalling on the stop, and a billing goat type jerk forward followed. I called around, looked thru my manual, and googled searched while finding the longer my truck stayed on and I was on brake at a light,a sound like boom,or errrrrr would happen first before the jerk forward even when just switching foot off brake and slightly very slightly on gas. Very concerning. According to .manual this orange check engine light could mean bad fuel, which I'd been contemplating about as I've been utilizing the marathon gas which has been the near cheapest one in my area, and have noticed a lowered performance in my vehicle, but I say for sure, except that my rides been feeling a bit different, and not better. So when cross referencing possible causes in my trouble shoot I've located my stop/start button, and tried seeing if there's was a difference after reading into a recall that has some relation to my situation. To my surprise, when i disabled the truck stop/start I found thus far no lunges, jerks, leaps, or odd sounds . But soon as I undisabled the stop/start there is a concerning sound and forward stalled lunges occur. Now heres the kicker....... I recently like 2 months ago had a recall that pertains to the PCM system , which looks to me to be dealing with the same underlying factors, I have a vibe that this recall was not done correctly, and could be related to marathon shiity gas, nonetheless, affecting the stop/start function from working properly. Today i drove 24 miles to work, and when testing the stop/start button, when enabled I'm the sound it makes sounds something like a release( like a old metal fence blown open by wind, when not lubricated.Could anyone give me feed back in could sure use the help, especially since I don't have the money to afford for dealership( whom I already don't trust) because I have to move unwillingly and have no available funds.
