Stumped on driver side power lock

My cars driver side power lock doesn't work. As far as I could tell the door lock actuator was the problem so i ordered a new one. I received the new door lock actuator today and when I plug it in the shifter lights flash meaning the car recognises it being plugged in (i think) but when I lock or unlock the doors nothing happens on the driver side.

Not sure if this is helpful but when I plugged the old one back in the cars alarm went off.

Any help would be appreciated.
