K, so I traded in the reg cab on a crew cab.
Now I’m wanting to do a system in it.
I already know I’m going with a fox box.
But I have a couple questions.
I want it to POUND!!!! Now, should I run 2 12 type r’s, or will one be enough?
Also, I already have a mrp-500 mono but would be buying new subs.
Should I just get the mrp-1200 mono for the 2,? Or a 1200 a piece.

Now, some of you old timers may remember me and my build so I do know what I’m doing and how to do it. I just don’t have any knowledge of the crew cab sound ordinance.

What made you decide on alpine subs? I highly reccomend JL audio 12W6 subs.
I had a 10W7 and it was enough for me.

"Want it to POUND" has different meaning for everyone.

two 10's would be fine for me now, but back in my younger days was bigger was always better.

Get some FI Audio Alpha's and a bigger amp. You'll pound and sound good. I wouldn't go JL. Overpriced and you can get better for less. What about sundown? DC Audio Level 2-3? Incriminator Audio? FI Audio? There's so much better out there to run and cheaper. Check out sonic electronix, down4sound audio, or woofers, etc. Honestly, I think 12's get choked out because of airspace. Even in the fox box. I'd go dual 10's. Some Sundown sa-10's in a fox box would definitely rattle the fillings in your teeth and sound good.

Id buy another MRP-500 and run both...one to each sub. Tough to beat their price point, and they're nice reliable amps that put out a solid 500 watts
Buying 1200's would be nice for bragging rights, but when you double your power...you'll be rewarded with 3db gain per sub...that's a lot of hassle for 3db= not worth it

as I understand it...the Type R's will NOT fit due to their depth required. They are just too deep for the under seat boxes. That's why people use the Type S instead (which is what I have/bought used) I could be wrong...but do your homework on the Type R's BEFORE you order them to save yourself the headache. I really don't think they'll fit in the box nor will they have enough air in that small enclosure
