I'm in no way an expert on suspension, but as I was pulling out of my drive way I heard a loud band... So I got out of the truck to find this..

I see what the problem is, but what broke?

And sorry guys, I won't be making the G2G with this :(

If its the piece hanging down against the bottom of the drivers side tire, that's what controls the steering I believe..

If you turn your wheel do both wheels turn? Or just the passenger? That piece in the bottom of the drivers wheel looks like it needs to he connected at the top of the wheel where the bolt is.

You're awful lucky the tie rod didn't break while at speed...that would have been an oh **** moment for sure.

When you go to replace it, replace them on both sides. Make sure you get greasable ones too. If those are the stock ones, they probably were not greasable and just broke due to age and lack of grease. Don't forget an alignment after you replace them.

Adam has you covered
Shouldn't be out of your abilities to fix but make sure you get the tires as close to straight and get it aligned
Greasable stuff is always nice

Yup, outer tie rod end. Did they replace them with greasable ones? If so, did you grease them? They should be greased every oil change if they are greasable.

Yep they were greased at every oil change... I was reading that that happens when they're installed wrong with the drivers side TRE locked. I wonder if that's what happened

That sucks...I would just say screw the dealer and go aftermarket....I know it might **** ya off that they broke so soon, but aftermarket would probably be the better option.

Its the tre bolt. My guess would be they way over tightend it with an impact. Never seen one break like that. Did you get the 08.5 plus upgrade?
