Suspension Question

Thanks for the suggestions.. so, had the tires balanced yet again. Inspected for shifts in belts, and any cupping or feathering. All is good. They stripped the weights and re-balanced the tires and rotated them. No change.

I did the torque converter tests described and it appears fine.

Visually inspected bushings and could not see any cracks.

Tried moving front wheels and nothing seems loose, so ball joints and tie rod ends seem fine.

Did not do the front half shaft test described, but did run it through all the different 4wd settings paying attention for any unusual clunks or lash.

Vibration unchanged.

I really suspect shocks at this point..

Next question... do I ask about shock recommendations in this thread or jump on existing shock threads? Most threads revolve around lifts or off-road improvements. I am not looking for that. I really loved the ride and handling of my truck when fresh and just want to bring it back to that ride quality. I assume there are aftermarket choices that are better made than the OEM shock but still offer the same ride and handling.

I'm gonna really lean towards cv shaft splines are wiped out. You'll get no unusual chunks or feelings. Just an incurable vibration you can't find. Check out the ongoing thread, there's alot of info coming in on this topic. Tapatalk won't let me link it.

I recently got a set of Billstein shocks for my 2001 Ram 2500. Paid $311 with taxes and shipping. The shocks were still original. The truck has only $130k miles on it, but the age alone was the thing that told me to replace them (I only got the truck a month ago). I didn't have any vibration issues, but it was bouncy on the old shocks. It drives infinitely better now.

I have the same problem. 2015 4x4 hemi. Passenger front tire seems to cause the problem. It wears on the out side. I have been told the same, as far as alighnment being in specs and balancing being correct. I just live with it. Ram front ends just suck.

I have 18 3500 dually with the same symptoms, after all the tire rebalancing, centramatic balancers I got rid of the cheap Nexen Tires and bought new tires( nitto a/t terra grappler) and less than 10,000 miles of symptoms are starting to come back. I could never tell if it was coming from the front or back. The truck has 38,000 miles, if it's the tires it would have to be the design of the ram suspension causing the problem. If it's a transmission I'd have to have it in a box leaking fluid on their desk before the dealership would do anything about it
