swapping 99' 5.2l v8 engine(from 2x4) for 95' 5.9 v8 engine(from 4x4)

Ive browsed the threads and havent found my answers. As the title states. I want to put a 1995 1500 5.9l v8 automatic engine from a 4x4 > a 1999 2x4 that has an automatic 5.2l v8.

My questions are... 1.) Will the 95' 5.9L engine fit the 99' transmission? 2.) Will i need, both, the tranny and the engine from the 95'? 3.) Am i wasting my time? Lol thank you rambros!
