Swapping Grille Inserts

I was looking at after market grille inserts and the only one I found that I think would look good for what I want to do is the GrillCraft inserts black mesh.

Seeing what they have for instructions that I can find, you have to drill holes into parts of the grille to make it work. Not to thrilled about that.

Found the OEM wire mesh grille inserts for the Laramie. Was thinking about getting those inserts, send them out to get flat black Cerakote and then install them in the grille.

Thoughts opinions?

Those look better than some I've seen. Some just attach to what's already there. These look like you remove the current inserts to replace with these. But because of the way they attach, you'd need to drill holes for mounting.

I prefer the factory black honeycomb myself ... You can find em for less than $100, and install is easy snap-in

Look through offer up, craigs, etc. I found a primer grill with honeycomb inserts for 60$. Asking was 100

Yeah, that why I wasn't too keen on blowing holes through any part of the grille assembly with a drill. Replacing them with the Laramie mesh inserts and having them black in color is just a factory swap out....the OEM black honeycomb would be okay, but I like the tighter mesh look.

I'd rather have black slats in mine, but I'm cheap so I'll just paint over the chrome honeycomb.

I painted over the existing honeycomb too.

How's it holding up?
I'm a little worried it'll start chipping quickly.
I've only had it 3 months now and I had issues with the bumper cap prep so I'm crossing my fingers.

Looks nice. It's odd on mine though - it's an SLT, but with the sport package so I have the color matched bumpers and a chrome grille. I've been on the lookout for a color matched grille but haven't found one yet.
