Two options:

Option 1 - Curt (and presumably others) makes a trailer wiring setup that has the female version of that connector wired in. Its expensive, though, especially just to steal the connectors off of. I managed to find one cheap on Ebay (10 bux!) so I used those connectors when I went to factory LED taillights. There were no markings on the connector and it was a molded piece, not a modular type deal where you can crimp and insert pins into. My guess is they use a factory somewhere to make the molded connector. Note the trailer wiring setup is for a Patriot, Compass and one other model. It is NOT made for a RAM, since we already have a 7 pin plug available.

Option 2 - Delphi/Aptiv part number 15326813 with nubs cut off of the side. It should interference fit, maybe wrap some wire ties around the flange to make sure it stays in place.

Thanks, just had a look at those. Yes, the trailer set up is expensive to just use the connector. The Aptiv part is the kind of thing I am trying to avoid as I am rectifying these kind of "adaptations" that a previous owner has made that is causing strange electrical behaviour with my lights.

I can't believe that I can find pretty much all the connectors on my truck except this one.

You arent alone. Its the hardest part of the LED taillight conversion to find. Ive talked to a couple other people very experienced with our trucks and they basically resorted to cutting the factory plug, or using the Aptiv part that is "close enough".

Curt wouldnt sell me just the connectors. I assume they are coming from China, so I looked through AliBaba for a bit but never found the exact connector. There are a TON to look at, though, so it very well may be available there.

I see you mention LED conversion. I don't have LEDs and am tyring to sort out a mess of wiring. Am i looking for the wrong part? The connector I need is the one that the bulb connector plugs in to. I am using normal halogen bulbs.

Sorry, I thought you were swapping.

The rectangle connector that is connected to the bulb base *IS* the correct connector for a truck with halogen taillights.

The parts I mentioned are necessary to connect factory LED taillights directly to that connector, but since that is not your goal the wiring you have in your pic is correct from the factory.

To give a bit more background, I am in the UK and we have to convert the rear lights to be legal here. Long story short, the rear and brake light remain the same in the large red section, indicators are changed to be in the clear (reverse) section using yellow bulbs and we hang a separte new reverse light somewhere, usually beneath the truck bed at the back.

The wiring in mine is quite a mess and I am trying to fix it as currently it is doing some really crazy stuff with the lights. The connector is not in the best of shape as the bulb holder has melted a little and pretty much welded itself in the connector. Also the tail lights themselves have had additional holes put in them (I have no idea why), so I am pretty much needing to replace everything from the tail light assembly all the way back to the harness.

I have found everything apart from the rectangle connector.

Ahh, I see now.

Yes, there is little to no information on a mating connector that would go in place of the bulb base. My advice would be to get the Aptiv connector, add some di-electric grease and put it all together.

The other option is to cut off the factory connector and use something like a Weatherpak male and female set. You have to cut factory wiring, but the Weatherpak connectors are basically what is in use in the rest of the truck, they are reliable and waterproof as long as you crimp them correctly. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Delphi-Packard-Weatherpack-Terminal-16-14/dp/B004DVM7RG

I think you might be right, the Aptiv connector might be the easiest option.

Thank you for your help.
