I'm installing some LED light strips in the bed of my 2015 Ram 1500 and would like to source the 12v from the tail light. The light connector has 3 wires (white, white, black). Can anyone tell me which is the 12v hot all the time even without the truck on?

Thanks!

I don't believe that any of the taillight wires would be hot at all times. Most people adding aftermarket bed lights either tap the 12V from the trailer connector or the cargo light in the 3rd brake light housing.

Does that "chassis" have anything to do with that wire that is under the left chassis that that Dodge capped off from the harness? I believe I've seen some chats about it and they are calling it the "ARE" cap wire.

Thanks

Can anyone confirm that the capped off wire on the left side of the chassis close to the bumper is a continuous 12v source for what I want to use it for?

Thanks

Can't answer your question, but can you get a tester at the any of the stores and see if there is power to it? They are pretty cheap and easy to use.

You might find a constant 12v connection in the 7 pin harness for the trailer brakes...

Thanks for the replies... I'll check the trailer connection harness.
