03 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7, this light out chime just started happening, this chime every second it feels like when driving. The light out message will pop up on the dash. All the lights work, brake lights work, turn signal lights work, everything that’s gotta do with a light works. The tail lights are aftermarket leds along with the third brake light and the headlights are aftermarket as well. The license plate lights are led. Anyone can point me in a direction to start would be much appreciated. Pics of what’s in the truck are attached. ThanksIMG_7267.pngIMG_7268.pngIMG_7269.png

LEDs don’t have the same resistance as the incandescent bulbs. You will either have to add resistors or buy LEDs that compensate for the change.

They’ve been on the truck for at least 2 years now no problems, all of a sudden this chime started happening.

So grab an incandescent bulb and go around swapping it out with the LEDs one at a time till you find which one has a problem. Maybe?

you had a resistance change in one of your lights enough to set it off.
So I had put LED bulbs in the headlights for the low beams and the light out sign would be on on the dash when the lights are off but would go away after turning the lights on. I figured that was it so I put back the original H1 bulbs that came with them but the chime is still going off every few seconds when driving.

It is possible your FCM went bad they do fail on the older rams if i remember correctly it plugs into the side of the under hood fuse box you can go on ebay match your part numbers up and its plug and play they are cheap.

My 03 would do that when a tail light housing would fail. Light would flicker for just a second and set off the chime.
