Tailgate cost

Looking for a tailgate as ive sold the lift gate on my 2011 cummins. Found one from an 09 1500 that is in perfect condition and he will color match it, all together he wants 450. What do you guys think about the cost?

I haven't even considered a dealership yet. The online national junkyard part finder averages 400-500 for ones without damage, qnd thats not color matched

Then I'd say your deal looks pretty good ... Only reason I asked about dealer was to get a benchmark ... If you get one in good shape and the right color for less than half what they want, then you're doin pretty good ... I think a dealer wants around $1200 - $1500 for one complete

Im half retarded sometimes. Totally wpuld have caught that but i was thinking about the bumper i just bought yesterday and thought he was talking about a bushing on the bumper, my bad

Not a bad price at all. When I had my 2013's tailgate fixed and painted (not long before it was totaled), it was about $800. 5% filler or whatever they used (some deep gouges, looked like the previous owner had dropped it and dragged it on a barbed wire fence), and 95% paint work. For a new tailgate, color matched (assuming he does a decent job), definitely worth $400.
