I actually did just that. Its slightly longer but not by much. It threaded and tightened. I still get a whistle but I think that's normal now. I sprayed carb cleaner around the TB and the idle didn't change which I assume it would have otherwise. I may have a small leak around the hose. But I can deal with that.

on the move..
Glad it worked for u . i ll do mine the same way later on.

Glad it worked out for you. Not sure why they make the intakes plastic. Damn cheap asses.

Yeah I was not too happy when I saw it was plastic. Hopefully I'll never have to remove that again. Thanks for the advice guys!

Hey, sorry for the late response, been away from the site the last few weeks. I'll go digging to find the bolt. Basically the bolt just needs to be a little wider, the thread was also a little more aggressive.

Edit: here's the bolt on the right, stock bolt on the left. Don't know the actual dimensions, I just went to a fastener shop and have them the stock bolt and they found that one to match. Just grind off the bottom.

are you frickin kidding me? THOSE are the kind of bolts mopar uses for the throttle body?? why the heck not a regular fine thread bolt? the intakes SHOULD have been designed with a metal threaded insert for a metric treaded bolt. imo...

Yeah, it's pretty irritating how easy it is to strip the hole. I can't believe they thought it was a good design.

I must be lucky, as I've had my TB on and off 3-4 times and have had no issues with stripping the crappy plastic bolt holes.
