TC or trans ?

On a WOT run my truck doesn't pull as hard as it should. Engine is revving nice and hard with slow acceleration. If I do a WOT run and then back out of the throttle a little I can feel it grab and then it'll haul ass like it should.
This is with tow and traction control turned off.

So do you guys thinks it trans, TC or is this normal ?

I haven't been to the dealer yet. I want some in put first.

I know with my Truck if I put it in manual mode and put it in 3 it spins tires and takes off like a rocket. I think the MDS is on when stopped or something because it is the only thing that makes sense since MDS is disabled in tow/haul and/or manual mode activated.


EDIT: You can put set manual mode in 6 if you like it will do the same for my truck anyway not just 3. If I am wrong others will chime in.

Sounds normal to me. The factory restricts our trucks so much. A good tuner will eliminate a lot of the sloppy shifting, and a better torque converter would make shifts even better.

I have a TC laying in the shop. My main concern is the trans. I don't want to put my TC in and have something up with this trans and have it destroy my TC

Its prolly a combination of the Active intake runner, VCT, and Knock control....
sometimes 2 back to back pulls will generate a different "feeling" espescially f you have knock retard going on.

What octane gas are you running?

I just ordered the software for my auto enginuity so I can see what's going on.
