11 days ago I ordered an underbody light kit from Opt7 to use only when getting in and out of the truck so people wouldn't bang their shins on my Amp power steps. I got the kit today...no remotes...in other words...no way to turn the lights on at all. I also realized none of their fuse taps will fit...so even when the remotes show up...I can't power the lights. This was definitely not worth the 11 day wait or the money. I'm about to run to the parts store and see if they have a tap that will work. I have their headlights and love them...but good lord they suck at making and shipping this kit apparently.

Rant over

Your amp steps don't have the LEDs?

They do but it's not enough for people that aren't use to them. The lights focus more on the board in 2 areas then showing the edge of the boards the entire length.

Waiting on my refund for almost a month now.

IMO

I went to my performance shop and they told me a few different ways to wire it without tapping the fuse. It looks like I'm just going to wire directly to the battery with an inline fuse. Now I just need the remotes sent, which they better do quickly or I'll be leaving them comments on Facebook daily haha.

I have yet to have any issues with my lows and fogs, however I don't off-road like you do so they aren't getting exposed to that kind of stuff.

May I make a suggestion to wire them into the Amp switch so they come on when the door is open, or wire them into the courtesy/puddle lights on the mirrors (if you have them) so they come on when you unlock the door.

you can also wire them with a relay so the remotes that came with them can also turn them on and off without control of the unlock/door opening.

Or what about some Amazon/ebay LED's that are tied in and wired to come on with lights when doors are opened? I know a plug and play would be nice but sometimes me must do it right ourselves :)

This was my thought too. I took the lights off on the passenger side (and since I don't use that side I haven't put them back) but you can just tap the 2 wires that turn on the leds from the amp steps and then you don't need any remotes.

Either that or even easier just tap them into the amp step lights.

Yeah wire them into the amp power. Way easier than fumbling with a remote every time!

One of my LEDs for my Amp steps stopped working this week. Time to upgrade to better lighting :D

Curiosity. How many new people do you pick up after dark on such a regular basis that you worry about lighting for strangers?
Or is it maybe you don't like bruises on ******'s? :roflsquared:

I want to be able to turn them on before the steps drop down, so that's why I'm doing inline to the battery.

I go to a lot of concerts and other stuff at night, so frequently people are in and out of it at night. No hookers though...I would rather spend money on the truck!

So a lot of Facebook posts on their wall, a bunch of e-mails and also website submitted messages...still no f$ckin remotes. I keep getting the run around on when they will ship. If I lived in Cali I'm pretty sure I'd have driven to their office and drop kicked someone by now. Probably THE worst customer service out there...never again will I order from these f#cktards.
