They work similiar to a pressure dump valve on a GM Turbo 400,except it completely releases the clutches, while most dump valves on 400's still keep a bit of clutch pressure in force

Thanks for the video but it was hard for me to follow what his clutch leg was doing while the car was sliding and things were bouncing round. The text break down was more clear. I would figure that would destroy the 8HP in short order but I guess not. Mine has a clunk at take off I was worried would break something.

Yea i don't know what it does to a 70's longevity,it might seriously shorten it's life expectancy,but i honestly don't know.

And they may not care the way they beat the snot out of their cars, hah. I always thought drift cars had to be stick to do what they do but I don't know much about that "sport".

Has anyone thought about this application for an off road application. The low first gear ability to control clutch lock up with a pedal. You could control your rig on the rocks like an auto but can jolt power instantly with the clutch. And when your in the sand or mug not missing a shift in a hill climb. Also being able to have the long Rand of gears so if your in low range you could do road speeds between rocks or dunes.

Now that's a good question,i've only really seen it utilized in the drifting world, but you bring up a good point about it being utilized in the rock crawling world. Both circuits are ones i don't really follow, but i like your way of thinking though.

Some of the sh!te the guys across the pond are developing for the 8 speed is mind blowing. Now they're doing away with the convertor completely, with out installing an actual clutch, and basically turning the 8 speed into a super fast shifting manual box.Reminds me of the old Clutch Flite days, but with alot more shift control, and without the rotating weight of a clutch assembly to slow engine acceleration down, with the ability to soften the shifts to keep parts alive.
