I've been around a few weeks asking alot of questions, the dodge ownership was signed over the weekend, so the official intro can take place.

Hey. I'm Robert. I live on the gulf coast and I own a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4 door ecsb 4wd, 318 w/ auto.

nice site and good people you have here. :winner_first_h4h:

needs some sway bar links
has cracked dash, of course
will probably get some 285/75-16 sized tires from a buddy
check the plenum gasket
get an oil change
tighten the steering slop (trying the diy tech directions)
needs to be washed and waxed
take the bedliner out (hope for no rust under it)
replace stacked blocks with an AAL
replace or clean headlights

not a bad truck so far. good power, no leaks, nice interior and paint

right on. when I saw your new pics last week or so, and I knew you would say something, I wanted to wait and surprise you. they would look great black on your truck. I dont have the balls to paint them, or the other shiny stuff right now.

thanks for the welcome everyone.

Wecome and very nice truck. It's asking for some bigger tires for sure. lol

truth.

I'm selling a jeep lift kit and a good bit of left over parts, so we'll see how much I have to play with once all the mystery bugs show up and get repaired. its a tight budget in this household. :slap:

Nice lookin truck man. Just curious why you want to take out the bedliner. You planning on rhino lining or somethin?

Bedliner. Drops in type hold a lot of water under them. = rust in the south. Especially launching a boat in salt water 4 times a week. Yes ill probably rhino it.

Lift. The po said it was 5" roughcountry. The tires are 205 70 iirc. About 30". Roughcountry says it will fit 35x12.50

That's what I'm looking to get with my tax return, hows it ride? I've heard mixed reviews on the 5 inch.

If those tires have the same back spacing as mine, you'll be golden with a set of 35's. I've got a set on mine and it's just leveled and I only rub my wheel well liner on full lock in reverse lol

The ride. keep in mind I just traded this for a lifted jeep wrangler. 99. Coil suspension. Similar solid axle. The ride isn't bad at all. Alittle stiff. But not bad. Compared to my dads 2nd gen 2wd it feels very close. Compared to my old lifted 99 z71. It's a bit stiff.
The only thing I don't like about the kit it the stacked blocks. I saw some other lifts with an addaleaf and blocks. I will be getting an aal to replace one of the blocks. It's about 100$

I had roughcountry kit on my jeep as well. I know several jeeps running the brand. They are good quality for little money. Great customer service.
