Right on, thanks for the input. I figured the front end would be a little stiff with the springs being that tall but sounds like it doesn't ride like complete $hit which is what I was wanting to know. COME ON MARCH! lol

I was looking at a set of those exact wheels. Depending on their age, they should have the same back spacing at 4.5". So you should still be able to easily fit 35's without any issues

I buddy has 5 practically new treadwright with the bfg At design, 285/75 size. he wants $400, but I can get him down. thats $150 less than the last set of 4 285s I bought, which were yok ATs from summitracing, that was several yrs ago.
if I can find some 315 ats around I'll get them, but I likely wont buy new tires. the jeep crowd changes tires alot and they be found for cheap. esp 33s

"hauled" a half pallet of porcelain tile this morning. it sure did make the ride quality better with a load. down side is it squatted the rear a few inches. #cali lean

hoping to wash it this weekend and do a little maintenance... wipers, ujoints, oil change

thanks. honestly this is the best group of people out of the handful of Ram forums I found. Its the company that keeps me coming back.
that, and I try to keep from doing actual work, while at work, as much as possible.

I can tell my springs are getting worn. I can tell the difference in ride quality on mine between a 1/4 tank and full tank of gas lol

nothing much new here.
-fixed the front end noise (4wd not disengaged, vacuum diaphragm was bent up, see other thread)
-oil change - I let goodyear do it since they had a special going monday
-washed it - but the roads are covered in sand and standing water from TS lee so it didnt do much good.
I sold the lift for my jeep, so I have some money to play with.
-I need to get a new steering box. searched around and they are about $155.
mine is way beyond trying to tighten it. I'm actually scared to even try it. I have 4-6" of play left to right in the steering wheel. its scary.
-I put on a bed tool box we had at work, left overs. nothing fancy.

I noticed yesterday my tire size is 305/70-16. which was surprising b/c I was sure they were smaller than that. so the plan to buy those 285s wont make any difference. these measure about 32". 35s I think will even look small. I plan to just keep an eye out for some used since these are still nice and an excellent tire.

with the left over money, about $200-
I may get the dash replacement cover thing for the cracks.
or muffler replacement with dual tips

Well, sounds like you have gotten a lot of things done!

With my old 2nd gen, the dash was cracked too and I just went with the carpet dash cover, it secures with really strong velcro and actually looked pretty good!

lens restorer type product from TURTLEWAX
I just want to say I have used several of these types of products over the past few years, some over $30. it's never anything complex, a series of progressive sanding pads or paper, a rubbing compound, and a sealer. this kit by turtlewax is not only one of the cheapest in price I have seen ($8 kmart), but also the easiest and nicest kit I have used.
the key items I liked:
3 sanding pads, about 3" sqr, foam with sandpaper surfaces, 4 steps (the last is step 3 on one side step 4 on the other). some other give you a strip of sand paper
there is a lubricating spray instead of "wet sanding with water"
the rubbing compound is a good quality. the lens cleaned up a good bit with this stuff alone. you use it before and after sanding.
I'm happy with the result. I may do it all again to see if I can get it even clearer b/c I really didn't put much effort in it the first time. more of less a quick run thru.
end sales pitch

if this post would be more tech or another area, I'm fine with someone moving it.

very nice!

I'm a bit weird on those kits...........especially when new lights are like $75. Why spend $30 cleaning them when $75 gets you new? From what I've read the cleaning doesn't last too long.

But..........$8 - thats a different story!

I agree. $8 was worth it this time. the other time was on a grand Cherokee. those lights aren't cheap. it lasted a good while.
the sealer is suppose to help prolong it. I haven't applied it since I planned on doing it again. I have plenty of product left.

I'm looking for a temporary fix until you start making 2nd lights. :naughty:
