Thinking about getting Superchip's cortex

Considering buying the Superchip Cortex for 09 hemi. Only question I have is do I need to perform the mods I'm wanting to prior to installing the superchip or does it matter? Only mods I'm wanting to do is a CAI and FM Super 40's. Thanks
