Good evening Ram Country! So after 30k miles a year on my 13’ Tundra and only seeing 16 on the old mpg calculations I started looking at Ram 1500s. Can’t do the eco, seems like their still working out kinks. I mean no offense to anyone but coming from Yota maintenance has been my only problem. So a few quick questions. I’m looking around still so if I ask a dumb one just nudge me to a posting. Thanks!

The 2017 3.6 was reworked... I commute and don’t tow. 60-65 mph back country roads. Is 23-24 mpg something I could see? The oil change interval for real world is? I do 10k now full synthetic. I can’t trust the oil maintenance indicator-(bad Jeep experience)must be my inner hillbilly. I’ll check the owners manual but wanted some real data. Appreciate it and thanks!

I drive between 55 and 65 to work everyday. Mostly highway, 35 miles one way. I have 15000 miles on my 17 I bought new in April. I average 26 on my highway trips. One long trip of 400 miles I averaged 30. I use synthetic, and did the first change at 5500. 2nd at 12500. But the computer shows 10k mile range for me. Good luck!

Thank you! I’ll let you know. Local dealer loves to play games... it’s too bad. I do 600-700 miles a week so every mile counts. I will keep you posted. No other issues? T y!

Ugh. Nothing serious? I only ever dealt with stupid recalls from Toyo. Sticker on the door and handles.

I think the Ram recalls are stupid but a bit more meaningful than door stickers. Tailgate recall right now because some tailgates will just open on their own. Easy fix and is already being done.

2nd recall was a cruise control issue... computer update for that one

3rd, if this applies to 2018's, is the auto park update. Basically puts the truck back into park if you open the drivers door with your seat belt off at idle.

So of course my local dealer pulls the whole our computer is updating line when I spot a good deal... 3rd time for this dealer now... I think it’s their tactic. But thankfully there are a lot of Rams around. Found a Big Horn Eco with 98k asking 25k. Not 4wd. Carfax says turbocharger changed at 40k. Is 200k possible on those ecos? Still like the idea of petrol err gas. (My dad’s fault he’s English)I appreciate the feedback and welcome!
