Sad to see it just sit and rot away.
Looks like the engine is probably shot with nothing to stop water from dropping in. Time to restore the body and interior then mount that on a custom rolling chassis with that 1100 hp Hellephant engine.

If it's the correct numbers matching Hemi,it's worth alot more with the factory 426 then it'd be with a Hellephant transplant. Odds are the old 426 would be rebuildable.

Nice Find.

Regarding the Owner just letting it sit.
Do not blame him, one little bit.
Envy him.
Wish I had it.
Would love to see it restored and running, but, his car, his decision.

Doesn't bother me that it is sitting there either.
Actually, I am elated to see it sitting there, in a decayed state.
Far too many have become nothing more than a Memory, after being sent to the boneyard or crusher.
Car is never going to bring less money and chances of any Heir sending it off to a bone yard is Nil.
Even then, chance it being crusher Lunch is nilch.

let it sit.

someday, someone will bring it to Life again.
Until then, leave the Old Man his Memories.
Pretty sure, one glance, at the car, from his kitchen window, brings back a ton of them.
Just seeing any ofo these old Mopars brings back a ton, for me.

Maybe it's just me ,but I can't understand people that have cars or other items of value and historical significance but would rather let them rot than to sell them and have them preserved. Blows my mind .
Yup, it is sad. Years ago, I saw a white 1969 Firebird TransAm sitting behind one of our neighborhood auto repair shops. The car was parked outdoors behind the shop, but it was visible from the street. This car's convertible top was clearly rotted away, the interior had been dismantled and it's components tossed carelessly in the passenger compartment. The rear bumper was in that fray, sticking up out of the passenger compartment reminiscent of a fishing pole. The paint was badly faded and there were patches of surface rust.
It had been in that one spot for quite some time. I stopped in and inquired about the car and whether or not it was for sale. The shop's owner said it wasn't.

For several more years, it sat there, and then the shop was closed down and said Trans Am was gone.

I wonder from time to time what ever became of that car. See, there were only 3 1969 Pontiac Trans Am Convertibles ever made, and they were all white. One recently went at auction for north of a million dollars.

In a cynical way, I hope the one I saw was a fake!
