Pulled thus out of my rear tire with a pair of vice grips and a hammer yesterday. Went in on an angle. Don’t know where it came from but I suspect it was from a trip I made to Home Depot yesterday morning. Also can’t fathom how it didn’t puncture the tire, but it didn’t. I guess there are some benefits to my heavy 10 ply Grabber ATX’s. Gonna be switching to the XL Terra Grapps in the future to save some weight. Wonder if it would have punctured that tire.

Damn, can't believe it didnt go through. Very fortunate.

I hit some debris in the road awhile back, and only recently noticed that it took a chunk out of the tread on one of my tires.20210423_112442.jpg

Gotta love the heavy duty tires. The Crapyear sra's would not have fared very well, I think.

The more I look at it, still on the vice grip in my garage, I can’t believe it either. Actually went out this morning with a spray bottle of soapy water and shot it in the hole it left in the tire, and no bubbles. Seems solid.

Yes LT tires will be a lot more resilient to punctures compared to P rated ones. They're heavier because of that.

I was wondering where that went.

I knew I shouldn't have read this thread before going for morning coffee!
Heard a ticking from the left front, found a 2" bolt stuck between the treads.
Started hissing so I stuck it back in and got to Mavis on the slow leak. Plugged & fixed.

Not reading any more 'oh no' threads today.

I hit a lag bolt that went into my tire on my 1500.....instantly flat because it was big enough to puncture and then get ejected. You could tell what it was because the impression left in the tread of the hex head. Patched and plugged. Happened with the Nitto TG G2's.

Those Nitto TG G2’s. We’re they the XL load tires, or E 10 ply, F 12 ply? Just curious.

Weirdest thing I ever found in a tire was a table fork on my previous truck. One of the neighbors had a garage sale that morning so I'm pretty sure a "customer" dropped in in the road. Went right through the tread and into the sidewall, had to replace the tire.

I once had 2/3 of a tire iron in my tire! Sharp end went in :)

As I slowed down to pull over it sounded and felt like the entire wheel was missing. All I saw was a flat tire when I got out.

I was a bit surprised as I pulled the wheel off to change it. The guy at the tire store said he has seen way worse.

How the hell was that big chunk of metal on the road? Holy $hit!!! Surprised you didn’t see it and avoid it. Great tires, could’ve gotten ugly. Remember how fast you were going when you ran over that?

Like the distressed flag on the fender... looks good and is somehow appropriate.

Nitto Terra Grappler G2's were XL tires. I really don't think it would have mattered whether they were XL, E or F.....it was at least a 1/4 to 5/16 inch bolt in diamter....it was a decent size hole. The bolt head was at least 1/2 inch.

How do you like the Terra Grapps in the XL version? They are my next tires after I run my Generals down a little more. The Nittos are 15lbs less per tire. That’s a lot. Definitely excited.

Well unfortunately you have some real DumbFuc^$ out there that just throw shi# in thier trucks with no thought or care.. The crap flies out (trash) over the top or rolls down the bed and out under the tailgate..
Unfortunately we pick it up in our tires or see it on the sides of the road.
I just cleaned out in front of the property and after cutting the long grass, was faced with all the garbage,,cleaned up over 30lbs of other peoples trash!

I wish they would get rid of the fines for littering and go with mandatory jail or vehicle confiscation! maybe it would teach these losers to give a shi$ about their country! but I doubt it...
