After lurking in here for awhile and getting some great, albeit expensive ideas I figured I better contribute.

Just installed my thuren stage 2 king shock setup I got for a crazy good deal from Neil at maple off road in Sask Canada as he had someone back out on him and it happened to be exactly what I was looking for. Fortunate for me as I had no wait time ( not super patient ) and they weren’t to far from me.
I’ll be going to see Neil for some custom bumpers shortly after looking at his work on 2500/3500 rams he specializes in.

After running the bilstien set up up front and stock shocks rear for about a month,
I quickly realized while this set up is fine for most highways ( except most around here y’all would have to see to believe the confusion s of the roads in this province)
But I spend a good deal of time on dirt roads for work and for general travel I wanted something more.

After a fair amount of research I decided on my current setup thuren kings stage two as I encounter a lot of smaller bumps than big whoops and I chose the zone ucas because they use the standard ball joints if I was to go with a univalve type upper it would be kibbetech hands down, rims are 17x9 fuel podiums and tires are general grabber atx 35x12.50x17 I have zero rubbing issues with kings set at 2”. I wanted to keep the setup strong and simple as I’m planning on using this vehicle for overland adventuring.
To this setup I’ll be adding core 4x4 rear control arms, stabilizer links and adjustable panhard bar.
More of the outfitting of the truck for travel as it progresses.

I have only driven a couple of hundred kms on dirt but the improvement is more than I could have hoped for. So much more control over washboard and they potholes, actually a very Odd sensation traveling over the same roads as I did previously and the truck hardly seems to move, you hear the suspension working and the impact of the bumps but you don’t feel them and the truck stays arrow straight. The harder I push the better it works. Well worth what I spent I feel and there is just no comparison to the Bilstiens.

I recently got rid of my 2018 raptor and so far I feel this setup I have is actually better just not sure it would handle airtime as well as the raptor did giving up roughly 4” of suspension travel.2ede7c71ae9343aff9c76aa8bfe501bd.jpgo2ede7c71ae9343aff9c76aa8bfe501bd.jpg

I will post up more pics soon of install etc

Looks awesome! Rcsb is an awesome platform! Thuren is awesome at what he does. Had a bunch of his **** on my 2500. Curious to see what you do for the front bumper, I've yet to find one I like.

Love the bronze and white letters! FTW!!!

Ps, get some heater hose and wrap that resi tube up. @ram1500rsm has kings and zones and had the hose resting on the uca in the same spot. Don't wanna blow that line when you're getting jiggy with it

Awesome. I love the RCSB build - if it weren't for needing to carry passengers daily, that's what I'd have. Tuned Kings aren't ever going to be a reality for me, but they'd be my choice if I could. Are you going to replace the rear springs as well?

Truck looks sweet! I love the look of fat tires on wheels smaller than 20". I dont know what it is but it just tickles my fancy. Must be the redneck in me coming out. Really nice truck though, congrats.

Kings ride great in the rough. I can't remove the grin in my face almost every weekend when i take the truck out to have some fun.

I see you're now in the bumper selection post some pics if you end up going aftermarket. You'll need to crank of the CO's to keep the same height you have now since most aftermarket bumpers will be heavier than stock.
Check my built thread i have some tips that will show how to adjust them the easy way. it takes me about 30 minutes to do both sides now that i have the practice.

I'm at 11 open threads in the driver side and 10 in the passenger with an ICI throphy bumper which is prob one of the lighter tube bumpers out there, and i have accomodated 37x12.5x17 KO2 tires that way 100% offroad functional too with just 2.5-2.75" lift without having to cut anything, minor fender lip adjusting in the front though. One day i'm expecting this ****** to be my full fun offroad toy and that will including jumps too :) for now is a DD with weekend fun duties.

Have fun bro.

I was considering the ici Baja if I go off the shelf bumpers strongly, doesn’t seem like u can beat them for the price.
I’ll check your tips for adjusting the kings !

I’m going to run it as is until I get new bumpers mounted and the core arms are in, then make some decisions from there on springs.

Here you go bud
https://www.ramforum.com/posts/1915755/

When adjusting the CO's is super important you do so with that side in the air, wheel removed
Loosen the pinch bolt 1 full turn out, that will allow to turn the adjuster collar.
To go up you want to turn the collar adjuster clockwise
every 1 full turn (use the pinch bolt as a reference)= 0.2" inch
Once you're done
tighten the pinch bolt, snug, don't over torque
That's it.
First time it'll appear to be a little complicated especially cause more likely you'll need to use the hammer and of course if you scratch the CO paint it'll hurt even more. Now days i'm more interested in turning the damn thing so i can be a little hammer happy hahaha.

Have fun.

Thank you for this help in this matter, although I can’t say I’m not a little disappointed.
Used to be the manufacturer would have no issue in helping a client solve a problem with a supplier , those companies seem to be getting fewer and further between.
I have a hard time understanding the issue when I want to simply exchange one of your companies products for another, it seems like a fairly simple transaction to me the consumer.
This is not a reflection on you Carol, but I will do my best to make my experience with ICI known on whatever platforms I can and refuse to mount your products on my vehicle, so I will return the items and take the loss on the money I have already put down leaving the shop in town I dealt with most likely holding the bag due to the arrogance of the supplier trying to change 1000$ plus shipping to simply swap my Baja bumper for your cheaper Trophy model.

Again thank you for your help personally but I couldn’t be more disappointed in ICI.

Update on the kings, they are awesome. I travel on dirt for a couple hours everyday and I’m bombing thru these beat up dirt and gravel roads at 120km/hr or better regularly. It’s an odd sensation because I seem to hear the washboard or big hits and I find myself still tending for worse but no big hits ever come!

Honestly I may pull them however and try the one step softer valving as I hit way more washboard and pot holes them big jumps taking big hits.

However I have ordered carli rear coils and sway bar links now, and am going to adjust the front struts to accommodate 37 inch rubber just as rsram did(same tires). also take the opportunity to put in some airbags I got a deal on while I swap the diffs for a set of 3.92 gears I came across. More pic to come soon.

That should have read ram1500rsm fat fingers small keyboard.
I wanted to make sure I got that right as his build thread has been a wealth of valuable info and was quick to show my some pointers running this setup.

I really wish I read the whole thread before ordering parts haha.

No worries bro, any question just ask.
I’ve tried to document the experience as best as I can. Kings are fun for sure :)

My Fox 2.5’s had the different holes to mount then reservoir bracket. I tried the center one first and it only left 1/2” or so of clearance between the control arm and the hose. Moved it to the back one (which isn’t much further and I now had plenty of clearance. I wish I took a pic of the Fox bracket to show how they do theirs.
Maybe drill a hole in the bracket to give more room for the hose. That way you could get ditch the hose protector??

I’m also curious as to why you went with the Zone control arms over another control arm? Did you already have the Zone, then buy the King’s?
