Cool trucks huh! The white one and the red looks awesome. I love mine and can tell you do the same. Ill get some good pics of mine on here soon. Mine is (PAR) Maximum Steel in color. Virtually unmolested.
Max. Steel is my favorite color!

I'm in the same boat with the lifter issue now as my cylinder #3 is gone. 213000 miles on my 2015 Hemi and never one issue until a misfire a month ago and now it's going to be $14,000. Although what Reignited makes sense on more oil would be better the bigger issue I saw was from another engine builder that showed the relationship of the cam to the crank and casting and the cam not getting oil spray and when you look at the block you can see exactly what he's talking about. Had I known about all the lifter issues a month ago I would have had someone do a cam lifter job with what one long thread here mentioned the 6.2l lifters with the larger needle bearings. Love my RAM but wish I knew about the lifter issue sooner. Back when I bought mine there was no real knowledge of it like there is now 10 years later. The idle thing seems weird to me because now I'm down south but previously upstate NY and almost EVERYONE has remote start for there vehicles now and idling to warm up is commonplace there! From what I see now Johnson lifters are the only ones with oil that flows through to the roller which would be the best and had I known earlier that would have been my pick for lifters with a cam job. Best of luck on your engine as what I've seen the 2014 was one of the worst years but can't always go by all reports. Most engines I find are between 150 and 200,000 miles so no sense in me spending 3 grand on one of those not knowing history and ending up with the same issue so I will go with a new one unless I get super lucky searching the next few weeks.
They seen you coming with that $14000 quote for a engine. You can buy a brand new crate engine for less then $7,000.

No that was total install price for everything, like $13500 but Benny just showed me I can get a new engine for $5700 which is probably what I will do because my dealer told me they can get a new engine from Mopar for $8000. Would love to see the look on his face when I tell him I can get the same thing for $5700

Wow! best of luck with that and always sorry to hear it. Scary stuff. Not all here agree but personally, i dont see how a guy could go wrong with installing a high volume oil pump to hopefully avoid this situation. It seems to be a lubrication problem and as I found out...the hemi camshaft is the last in line to get oil from the pump and relies heavily on oil splash from crankshaft. LS engines are the same way and do also have lifter and cams wiped out but not as often as the hemis. high idle time is bad Juju! I am completely torn if I should install HV oil now with 120,000+ miles. Maybe the best thing for me is just start putting back the money for short block or 5.7 crate engine if they are even available at that point in time. Id just be heart broken if i got the dreaded misfire like you just did. With new truck prices being what they are, and if body isnt wrecked or rusted out...its well worth a new engine. Let me know what you decide to do about your engine.

If I was in your shoes I think I would see who could put the Melling HV pump in. Best thing though in my mind would be to do a cam lifter job and use the 6.2l lifters where they said in another thread that those bearings on the lifters are bigger and fewer of them for the Hellcat and made to take more because of that engine. ( Think they said that Hellcat engine has a supercharger ) I've read here and other places of some guys needing a cam and lifters at 30,000 miles but it was covered under warranty but still the tiny needle bearings and not enough oil look to be the main issue. There's a video of a guy I think it was like uncle tonys garage or something where he shows the cam height is higher than normal engines and the lifters are pretty much flat so the drip down of oil does not go right to the roller and add in that the block casting had a oil gallery between the crank and cam so the spray up of oil is minimal. I'll try to find it again.

New!
Says that if you scroll down a little...
You do know a long block is not a complete engine, you need to transfer everything off you're original engine, like oil pan / oil pick-up tube / timing cover / intake manifold etc.
A crate engine is a complete drop in as it has those parts already installed.
If you're paying a shop to do the job,you might be farther ahead spending the extra $1,000 for a complete crate engine, saves labour on parts cleaning , swapping said parts and gaskets etc.

There is no such thing as Hellcat lifters, all non-mds lifters are the same whether they're for a Hellcats 6.2 or a standard run of the mill 5.7.
Don't get sucked into paying more for so-called "Hellcat" lifters.
Instead of doing a high volumn pump, you're farther ahead using the stock pump and upping the idle rpm to 750 or slightly higher. You'll have the same pressures as the high volumn pump generates, plus more oil flung around the inside of the crankcase, and no worries about oil pressure codes.
50 psi at idle with bumped up idle rpm to 750+ using the stock pump,is pushing the exact same amount of oil through the engine as 50 psi with a high volumn pump with the idle at 600.
Watch some of the tear down video's i just posted for Burt in his 6.4 Noob thread

You can watch the video and see where he cut lifters apart and showed the difference in the needle bearings. I'd want the larger needle bearings myself. So so much for lifters not being different. Tried to post the image here but it won't let a jpg go through. And sadly no a crate engine does not have everything on it. I called and they said it doesn't. I was hoping it was like the picture with the intake and coils and everything and they said that was just a picture of an engine. Both places by me said everything will transfer to the new engine from mine. I also want to make sure they do the belt sander trick to use my manifolds and make them flat so I don't have to do that again.
Are you telling me this will come with the intake coils etc.?
Even Benny said I'd need an intake if there was metal in it.

Now if this was to come exactly as pictured it would be a sweet deal with the intake, valve covers and coils and everything!
We can all dream.
It does but that's the car 5.7,here's a link to the truck 5.7 through MMX,but you can hit up Benny at Allmopar parts on here, and he might beat their price.

Long Blocks don't come with anything, they're basically heads/cam/and block.A short block means it has no heads.Complete "Crate" engines come with everything ,they're a drop in .
This is the trucks 5.7 Crate engine, and look at it close,it's a complete ready to drop in engine
