Hello all. Done a search on the site but was not able to find anything duplicating the issue. 2013 ram 1500 5.7. It began with killing battery overnight. What was noticed was the dash lights were staying on. Pulled the battery terminal for a few trips before i was able to trouble shoot. Found that when the key was off, there was a large draw. Could hear a clicking like a solenoid getting power. Found to be the A/C clutch was getting power with key off and out of truck as well as dash lights staying on. Pulled the 10amp fuse for a temp fix. When shutting off the truck, if I cycle the key to on again then off, the dash lights would turn off as well.
Used truck like this for a couple weeks...until now similar issue again, battery dieing over a day or two and something staying powered up as well as the dash lights. Found now the Throttle body is clicking with Key off. Checked the power and on the TN/Y wire, it is receiving intermittent power causing a click on and off. I found the wire goes to the PCM/ECM. Now, while this clicking is happening and the key is off, i can pull the ECM fuse for a second, pop it back down and clicking stops, truck goes back to normal.
Also, I have reinstalled the fuse for a/c clutch and that now seems to be functioning properly!
Like to have a bit more reassurance before buying a TIPM if possible...Thanks in advanced!!!
