i recently went to repair my AC, diagnostics showed high voltage at the AC pressure transducer, replaced transducer and found wiring shorted out on frame, repaired wiring and still have high voltage reading that seems to be in the tipm itself. Detuned ecm to factory, while waiting on answer for tipm repair, then decided to retune back to superchip for towing. During the retuning it seems I lost communication, code reader will not work says problems in communication, engine check light started flashing rapidly. Have checked fuses, have full 12.5vdc, have visually inspected wiring to tipm and ecm and do not see any damage. No blue smoke has escaped from any of the wiring that I can see, what have I missed or need to check next. Any and all help, suggestions, criticisms welcome as automotive computers are new to me and I'm being forced to learn. Thanks in advance.

Your in wrong gen.

TIPM damage comes from inside TIPM>

First suspect would be battery here, how old is/are batterie/s? Regardless of how many volts you say, how OLD are batteries?

learn about timp here...

The batteries are about two years old, I checked to voltage after playing with the tuner and the voltage didn't go below 12vdc.

However, I did not monitor voltage during the tuning so I don't know if and what the voltage may have dropped to during the process. If voltage drops during tuning is there a problem putting a trickle charger on it during the tuning?
