Forgive my ignorance, but I've never owned a vehicle with a built in tire pressure monitoring system. So, on my dash it said 41,42,41,42 for the tires. I let a little air out of the ones that say 42, now one of the front ones that said 41 has dropped to 38. I think that there is a mix up here? The Carfax did say that the dealer rotated the tires. Were they supposed to reset something, so that the computer knows which tire is where? Or is it supposed to auto learn this?

Yep TPMS. Sensors are not very accurate. After adjusting pressure, need to drive 20 or so miles to reset. On my 2018 2500 2wd. System wants 60 front and 80 rear. I set at that and drive it to clear the low pressure light. Then I reduce pressure to 55 front and 70 rear.

Thanks Fitz-0518, exactly the answer to the question I joined to ask! MY 2018, 2500 rides a bit hard set at 80 psi.

I run 60 in the front and 50 in the rear of my 2018 2500. Tires are wearing evenly. I air them up when I tow our TT, otherwise they stay at 60/50.
