I’m back with more questions.. I’ve got a race and the brackets won’t be in till next week so... I’m racing with out. It’s on a asphalt road with traction off I’m wondering if I can lower tire pressure and hit a quick burnout and then it should hook? Because it just feels faster with it off I usually leave traction control on and just roll into the throttle and I don’t like it so I’m wondering what y’all think.

The reason behind rolling into the throttle is because it hops if I give her all the beans and don’t with it off because it’s just spinning the tires

Drop the rear tires to about 26psi,then just do a quick spin to clean them. "Do not" do a smoky burn-out with street tires, all you do is make then slippery.Street tires use a carbon compound to get more life out of the tire, when you heat the living **** out of them, the carbon comes to the surface, and causes the tire to get slippery, all you want is a quick little spin to clean the tire.Listen to Gary,i think he still holds the record for the fastest 22" street tire pass yet out of a 4th Gen,with a basically stock truck no less, lol

Again what Wild One said. Lol Him & I are probably some of the most avid drag racers on the forum. We both are at the track almost every weekend racing our trucks. When I'm not racing I'm always talking to him picking his brain about racing. Lol

Like Rick said I hold the current fastest NA 22" tire pass for our trucks. I lower the rear psi to 26 like he said, I do a small burnout just enough to clean the tires off, not heat them up & I launch rolling in the throttle. I will leave on half throttle & when I feel it bite I floor it. I have cut a 1.81 60' on 285/45/22 Goodyear's by rolling in the throttle like that
