My last set of tires was essentially the same size, but mine is a 2500 so I weighed a little more. That said, I was running 33 to 35 psi. Would air them up to 40 or 45 or something like that in the rear for towing. Since you are a little lighter I would think somewhere in the 30 to 33 range.

I started out at 45, then 40, then 38, and all of those it was super floaty in the rear when on gravel. But those low 30s gave much better ride and still a good wear pattern.

Note: That the larger tire needs less pressure than a smaller tire to carry the same vehicle weight.

I always run 5 to 10 lbs over what the mfr suggests. Not a Ram truck, but I had over 80,000 miles on my Chrysler 200's tires. If not for winter driving, it would have had more. I do drive like I like I have an egg under my foot, no hard turns or braking. Do this with all of my vehicles, helps fuel mileage too.

Years ago when we still had a Firestone manufacturing plant, they put on a school at the local drag/road course track, and they taught us to run roughly 10 psi over reconmended pressures for handling and milege, and to run 10 psi under reconmended pressures for the drag track,i've employed their reconmendations for the last 40 years,as i went to their school back in 85 :waytogo:

I've seen two nearly identically equipped trucks with tires from different manufacturers in the same size with different tire pressures listed on the door jamb. Somebody must've thought there was a difference.

From what I see according to size they would seem different from oem's. So from there, I would go maybe 40-45 psi and check for wear pattern in about 5k and re-adjust pressure according to wear.

Wouldn't the chalk test provide near instant results and save the potential tire wear?
