Going to be going with 37s here shortly and I'm trying to decide if I should regear or not. I have people telling me both. I don't haul with it. It's my daily driver and I'm probably 70% highway driving around 70mph

Would you guys suggest leaving it alone, or regearing to say 4:56s? I have 35s now and it drives great. It's got a Hemi fever tune also

What gears stock? If 4:10 I’d say you may be ok but if 3.73 I’d regear. Are you set on 4.56? 4.33 May be good as well

I have the same issue. I dont even really like it with 35's. My issue is it's a 4x4 so I have to do gearing for both ends. Cha-ching for the bank account. Mine is kinda boggy taking off so lowere gearing would be ideal

37s should have at least 4.88 gears, if not even 5.13. There are plenty of guys going 4.88 on 35s.

I am only running 275/65/20, or 34" and I'm going probably 4.88 for towing.

On my tires at 65 in 6th gear, I'd only be turning 2000-2100 rpm with 5.13.

I do not know what it has stock for gears first part the way it drives right now with a 35 in an absolute Beast even off the line. and like I said I do not tell with it. That's why I'm not sure if I should leave it alone or if I should Revere it. I'm not worried about the money part I just want to have the truck set up properly or what I use it for

I have the factory lazy *** 6 speed trans with 3.92's, 5.7L and 37's. It's not that bad but i also went the cheap way tuning my low rpm shift points for the first 3-4 gears so i have no complaints. Just put the 37's and drive her and see if you can tolerate the difference.
If you think 35's are ok, 37's should feel ok and you have more motor and more torque to deal with them anyways. You can always regear at any time if needed.

Factory didn't come with 37's so it surely will not be optimized.
If money isn't a factor, I would re-gear, especially if you plan on keeping truck.
Those tall tires would wear 6-speed tranny out quickly without a gear.

You increased the shift point for those gears?

No basically i changed the TP% needed to achieve for example a 5-4 or 4-3 downshift without having to step on the gas more aggressively at low rpm so she doesn't appear to be lugging down the engine in the wrong gear during certain circusmtances involving city driving. Imagine driving a manual trans with bigger tires without changing gearing at say 40-50mph You feel the engine lugging down in 4th in the lower RPM's so you shift to 3rd looking for a little more rpm/torque from the engine combined with the better trans ratio for leverage.

Best way to address bigger tires is still to regear though, there is no replacement for the gears physical leverage to move bigger tires. This is more like a hot towel fix to address the truck feeling heavier at low rpm with the bigger tires. it has to be made in such a way that you're not always downshifting everytime you rub the gas with your foot. The change is fairly subtle but the difference it makes in the low rpm areas in 3-5th gear range is more than welcome specially if you carry weight in the bed and you're driving around the city at city speed.

On the hwy i have to use tow/haul mode when i'm going uphill on long grades to avoid giving her more gas. The Hemi makes nice torque down low but you can definetely feel the 37's going uphill with the 6 speed trans and the 3.92's. This is the only instance where i wish to have 4.56 or 4.88's so i can simply enjoy keeping the gas pedal in the same spot :)

Hope it makes sense.

Yeah it dorsxmake sense. Thanks, I was thinking up shifting, but makes more sense downshifting. I may tinker with that

So another question for you guys is what brands are good and what ones are bad?

My shop was planning to use revolution, but Ive seen a lot of talk about nittro.

If you can afford the re-gear, do it. Don't fear the gear!
It makes the drive-ability SO much better.

I don't think I've ever heard a single person AFTER a regear (unless it's done wrong) complain.
I am planning on 4.56 with 34s. I can't imagine running anything under 4.88s with 37s.

Awesome, my only concern was that I spend 70% of the time at 70-75mph so I just wanted to make sure it was still the right choice

Have you been happy with them? What size tires?

I would recommend this mod with oversized tires 10/10 times! This brought back performance being able to easily spin the tires.

Tire size is 37x12.5r20

Absolutely do it! Your going to put a lot of stress on the trans trying to apply the torque.
When I did this on my '00 Ram, my highway MPG actually increased. And the 360 was not a rev-happy motor like the Hemi.
