Congrats. That muffler has a great sound when you are in the throttle but is tame while cruising on the highway. I'm sure you are going to love it.

Wow a cherry modder. Congratulations! Your going to love it. Once you hear it the seed is planted for the next mod. My suggestion is do what you want to do. What ever mod you think you want, try it out. There is always more holidays for new ones. Enjoy.

Is changing the muffler about the same in performance as a complete cat back?

The main benefits of a complete quality catback system are that they are bolt on, better quality stainless than stock, mandrel bent piping, and they also include better quality (and usually larger) exhaust tips. From a performance standpoint, you wont gain more than 1-2hp over a standard muffler swap.

The tips alone are worth it to me. Adding 5" tips usually runs upwards of $250-$300 for the tips alone. By the time you factor in also adding a new muffler and having it all welded in, you are back in the same price range as the bolt on catback system.

I have the same muffler as well,
it sounds awesome.

Don't forget to post an update after you get it installed. :)

I got it done this morning; it is awesome. Even the wife approved! Drone is subtle but will likely go away in a few hundred miles.
