Starting my planned list of adds/mods for the '15 Ram I have on order, and one of the first orders of business will be buying a folding hard tonneau cover. I've looked into many of the alternatives, and at this point my preference has been narrowed to the BakFlip G2 and the Fold-A-Cover LS - which are in generally the same price range.

For those of you who have experience with either of these, what have you noted as the main pros/cons? I appreciate any insight you all can share!

I have never used the Fold-A-Cover, but I am very impressed with my Bakflip G2. I have had it installed for about 8 months now, and it still looks brand new inside and out. I get a little bit of water through in heavy rains, but not enough for me to be concerned. Its always at the back of the cover, so it may just be coming in through the stake pockets on the bed rails. Cover installs in about 20 minutes, it opens, closes, and locks in place easily, and I love that it site flush and does not stick up a few inches over the bed rails. All in all, I would definitely buy another one for my next truck.

No experience with the Fold-a-cover either . . . I have the Bakflip Fibermax and like it a lot . . . It'svery similar to the G2, except the top side is fiberglass instead of aluminum (supposedly will withstand hail better) . . . If I had to buy a new one tomorrow, I'd get the new Bakflip Roll-X . . . I just like the looks of it better, and when you roll it up, you can still see out the back window, and still have the secirity of a hard cover. Food for thought . . . Good luck.

Thanks Hemi450hp! One question I've not been able to answer is whether it's easy to remove/how long it takes to remove temporarily, if for instance, I wanted to use the full bed and didn't want it folded-up/blocking the rear window?

I have the BakFlip VP which folds fully to give full bed access. It does block the rear window when fully open, but that is what mirrors (and back up camera) are for. :)

Full removal is just a few minutes by unscrewing the two attachments screws at the front bulkhead of the bed.

I've never seen the other brand you are considering

Removing the cover only takes about 5 minutes. Simply open the cover as usual, and then there are 2 bolts to remove up against your cab. Then simply lift the cover up and off the bed. Your side rails would stay attached, so reinstalling it only takes about 5 minutes when you are ready to put it back on.

Have you looked into a diamondback? It replaced my cap. I'm a big fan of mine, you can haul on top and still store in the bed.

Yes I looked at the Diamondback, but decided to go with something lower profile and want something that it easy to remove when necessary. They certainly look sharp though.

I was looking at the rollX due to strength and ease of opening. But the price was a deterant, if u got the money then go ahead but u like to save my coin when possible.

I decided on a tonnopro low profile roll up, alost as low profile as the rollX but sticks up like 1/2" supposidly. It's got a 10yr warranty on the vinyl cover and limited lifetime on the frame. It locks when the tailgate is locked and waterproof etc just like the rollX.

Difference is that it only cost me $245 shipped for the tonnopro and this left me enough cash to get nerf bars and remote start :) hope to be installing the cover and nerf bars this coming week.
