Tool Box

Hello everyone.

I have a 2015 Ram 1500 Black Express Crew Cab. It is a 5.7 bed. Based off of the dimensions I am measuring, they are not matching up with the measurements the manual is giving me. This concerns me when shopping for a tool box.

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. What size tool box should I get for my truck?


And if anyone has any suggestions for brands, I would love to hear your experiences.

Thank you for any help you guys can give me on this. I know it sounds like I am over thinking this, but I don't want to get a tool box and find out it doesn't fit only to have to return it.

Just remember that for any tool box, the dimensions of the box will be less than the truck box width (up to 2 inches per side) to insure that they will slide in to the box.

Also, most over the rail boxes will not have enough height to go all the way to the bed floor.

What you really want to make sure of, in the case of an over the rail box is that the upper portion of the box will span the top dimension of the truck box so that the tool box will rest on the rails with sufficient width left to mount it but not stick out over the sides too far.

Remember as wellñ the 5'7" box has the wheel wells closer to the cab, enough to interfere with some too boxes.

I have a Delta, but it fits inside the box, it doesn't set on the rails.

Weatherguard 121-5-01 here. Absolutely love it and they're the best brand on the market IMO. You get what you pay for. I've also got 1" LED's in it to serve as running lights. Looks great with the running light mod on the tow mirrors!
