I am looking to level out my 2002 Dodge Ram (sport). Are the torsion bar level kits quality (ie. Suspension Maxx, etc). I have been told they will ruin my ride etc. I just want to level out the truck and put lerger tires on it, without dropping $2000 plus on a lift kit. Also, with the truck leveled out, what size tires can I add. Thanks for your help

welcome to RF. You can just crank your existing torsion bars to get level and then the only cost to you would be an alignment.

Since you are 4x4 you can fit 35's with the level

Why would you even mess with the torsion bars when you can get a leveling kit for like 75 bucks and there on in an hour ??

I take you are asking because you added a level kit to your truck? Your truck being an 06 has ifs with coil overs that can be leveled with inexpensive spacers. However the 02 through 05 4x4's use torsion bars for the front suspension. The only way to level the front is crank the torsion bars with the existing keys or install "leveling" keys which are just indexed more to achieve the lift

Do a quick search someone did a great write up on the how to's of cranking your tbars, make sure you measure well and get that alignment. Larger shocks will help too if you are unsatisfied with the stiffness after the level

i just cranked the torsion bars up on my truck the other day, raised it up a couple inches. havent had it aligned yet though. torsion lift keys are kind of a waste of money imo. you cant get any more lift out of them than you can with the factory keys i dont think.

Measure the fenders and see. The top of the hood body line is higher then the bed top so naturally makes it look nose up. Mine with keys when they were on along time ago made my truck look very nose up when leveled and under a hard take off unloaded the front way to much. The 04 now has just a few turns in it, the 05 has a few more for a better stance. Deff get it aligned after you do either.
