Tow/Haul for Horse Trailer

I'm just starting to use our family's 2019 RAM 1500 to tow our 2-horse trailer. I practiced with it empty, using the tow/haul button, and then realized on the steering wheel there are adjustments for the brake system or weight -- gain, I assume? How do I know what gain to set it at for a 3,500 lb trailer with say 2,000 lbs of horse in it? It felt/sounded best in 3+3. Thanks.

Gain adjusts the brake on the trailer. There are lots of ways to set and adjust gain, see the link below for the steps in our owners manual. You need some room to get up to ~ 25 mph to “dial” em in
